Dream Sock Bluetooth Setup Guide

Setup the Bluetooth Connection

1. Position the Base Station: Move the Base Station to your desired location. In most cases, the Dream Sock sensor and the Base Station just need to be within the same home, within 30ft (9 meters) of each other, so they can communicate. 
2. Make sure the Bluetooth for your smart device is turned on
3. From the Dream App, select Dream Sock from the device selections page 
4. Click “Get Started” and make sure your Base Station is plugged into the wall
   1. Once powered, your base will pulse white
5. Enabling Bluetooth Permissions
   1. If prompted to “Allow “Owlet Dream” to find Bluetooth devices?” tap “Allow”
   2. This prompt will only appear if Bluetooth permission hasn’t been granted yet.

6. Searching for Base Station

7. Found Base Station
   1. If successful, you will see the following screen.  Select “Let’s go” to continue and then proceed to step 8.

8. Base Station Not Found
   1. If unsuccessful, you will see one of two screens below.  
   2. This screen indicates that your base station was found but is not currently in pairing mode.  To put it into pairing mode, please follow the instructions by firmly pressing and holding your base station button until you hear two beeps.  Then select “Rescan.”

      2. If multiple Bluetooth attempts are unsuccessful, please select “Skip to Wi-Fi Setup” and follow the steps in this article, starting on step 7.
   3. This screen indicates that your base station was not found by your smart device.  Please follow the instructions to connect to the Owlet network and finish setup via WiFi.

      2.  If WiFi setup was unsuccessful, you will see the screen below, which will allow you to retry via Bluetooth.  If you have made repeated attempts, please contact our Customer Support team via chat in the bottom right corner of this article.
9. Enabling Locations Permissions
   1. If prompted “Allow Owlet Dream” to use your location?” tap “Allow”
      1. Note: If you dont allow, you may not be able to set up your Owlet Dream Sock  
      2. If you have previously disallowed this option, please enable for the Owlet Dream App within your OS settings to enable.
   2. Note: this allows Owlet Dream to auto-fill your Wi-Fi network name

10. Confirm the Connection: Confirm that the connection is successful in the App. Additionally, confirm that the Base Station green light on the bottom stays on for at least 10 seconds. Then, confirm the pulsing green light is visible on the top of the Base Station. 
    1. Home size and layout may affect signal strength, requiring the Base Station to be placed closer to the Sensor. Determine the ideal distance in your home by viewing signal strength in the Owlet Dream App as you test a Base Station location.  
    2. Once you've completed setup, you can view your current Bluetooth signal strength from your Child's Profile.  Home Screen > Child's Profile > Sock Bluetooth.
11. Connect to Wi-Fi
    1. If prompted, select your network and enter your password
    2. If your network was automatically chosen, enter your password
    3. 
12. Registering your Sock
    1. Add your Sock sensor to the base station and follow the on-screen instructions
    2. The App will go through a few screens as it connects to the Wi-Fi network and registers your device with your Owlet account.  Should an error occur, please follow the onscreen guidance.
    3. Once successful, you will see the following screen.  
    4. Note: As you complete the rest of the setup steps, please leave your Sock sensor on the base station to continue charging for at least 20 minutes.

13. Child Profile
    1. Set up your child’s profile by answering the on-screen questions.
14. Required Learning
    1. Select “Start Tutorial” to review the required learning before use.
