Setup Steps

This article will outline the steps to set up your Dream Sight camera with the Dream App.

Please Note: The Owlet Dream Sight camera works with 2.4GHz, 5.0 GHz, or dual-band routers (2.4GHz and 5.0 GHz).  Our Dream Sock only works on 2.4GHz.  If you are setting up both the Dream Sight and Dream Sock, first set up your Dream Sight using the steps below.  Once complete, please follow the steps in our Dream Sock Setup article if you need assistance to set up your Dream Sock.

Before you get started:

1. The Owlet Dream Sight camera works with 2.4GHz, 5.0 GHz, or dual-band routers (2.4GHz and 5.0 GHz).
2. Make sure that you know your WiFi password.
3. Download the Owlet Dream App and create an account if you don’t already have one.



The app will guide you through the following prompts to get your Owlet Dream Sight set up:

1. Select Dream Sight on the device selection page.

2. Select “Get Started.”

3. Turn on Dream Sight
   • Power on the Dream Sight camera by plugging the cable into the wall outlet and the camera.  The camera will automatically power on.
   • Make sure your phone’s Bluetooth is on.
   • Click “Next”

4. Enabling Bluetooth Permissions
   • If prompted to “Allow "Owlet Dream" to find Bluetooth devices?” tap “Allow”  

5. Enabling Locations Permissions
   • If prompted “Allow “Owlet Dream” to use your location?” tap “Allow”
   • Note: this allows Owlet Dream to auto-fill your Wi-Fi network name

6. Connecting to Wi-Fi
   • Your Owlet Dream Sight will connect ot the same network as your mobile device.  If the wrong Network name is being displayed and you wish to change it, do so in your mobile device’s Wi-Fi settings
   • Enter your Network Password
   • Tap “Get Started.”

Note: The App will go through a few screens as it connects to the Wi-Fi network and registers your device with your Owlet account.  Should an error occur, please follow the onscreen guidance or refer to the Error Code article for more information.

7. Registration Successful - Check for Updates
   • Tap “Check for Updates” to ensure your camera has the latest firmware

8. Update Success
   • After your device has finished checking for updates and installing any available updates, tap “next.”

9. Safety Information
   • Review the important Safety Information
   • Select the box confirming that you agree to use the Dream Sight in accordance with the product placement guidelines
   • Tap “Next.”

10. Assign Dream Sight camera to a child profile
    • Select which child profile you would like to assign your Dream Sight camera to.
    • You can create a new child profile by tapping “Add new child profile”
    • Only 1 camera can be assigned to a given child profile at a time

11. Name the Camera
    • Give your Dream Sight camera a name

12. Setup Complete
    • Your Dream Sight camera setup is complete
    • Tap “Start Mounting Tutorial” to be walked through the guide on how to safely mount and position your camera
