Yellow alarms (medium alarms) indicate that BabySat is not able to get a good reading, the Base Station has lost power, the Base Station is having connection issues with the Sensor, or poor Sensor placement. A yellow alarm will make a three beep sound on the Base Station with a yellow light, it will send a push notification to the mobile device and show an in-app notification to help you understand what has caused the yellow alarm.
Base Station During Yellow Alarm
In-App Notification for Yellow Alarm
For Yellow Alarm causes and solutions, please reference this table and the below details.
Base Station Has Lost Power
If the Base Station loses power during a monitoring session, the backup battery will support the Base Station to send a yellow alarm to notify you that power has been lost and your baby is no longer being monitored. Check the connection and restore power to the Base Station or discontinue use.
Connection Issue
A connection issue occurs when the Sensor is out of range of the Base Station, the Sensor has lost power or has had an internal problem. Check the Range and Sensor battery status in the Owlet Care+ App.
Difficulty Getting Reading
If Sensor has been placed improperly and data has not updated for more than 90 seconds OR there has been excessive movement for over 4 minutes, a yellow alarm will be triggered. Check the Sensor placement on your baby’s foot, check the sock fit. Ensure you are using the correct size sock and the correct sock for their foot (right vs left). Although BabySat is capable of getting readings through gentle motion, ensure your baby isn’t wiggling excessively or being moved (i.e. swing or being held). It may take 10-20 seconds for this alarm to clear once the Sensor is repositioned and the baby stops moving. Turn off monitoring until the movement stops.
Check Sensor Placement
If the Sensor has fallen off or is not in close enough contact to your baby’s skin, you will receive a yellow alarm. Check the Sensor placement on your baby’s foot, check the sock fit. Ensure you are using the correct size sock and the correct sock for their foot (right vs left). Check to make sure the Sock and Sensor are clean. If the Sensor is dirty it may obstruct the Sensor’s ability to get a reading. Follow the cleaning instructions in the guide tab to clean the Sock and Sensor every 2 weeks at a minimum.
