Owlet Sock Sizing Guidelines to Ensuring a Good Smart Sock Fit

When using the Owlet Smart Sock, it is important to pay close attention to sock fit. Just as we look for the proper fit for the shoes we wear, parents should check the fit of the Smart Sock each time their baby has it on.

First, select the correct sock size to use.

Click on the sock that is closest to your baby's age as a starting point, then follow our three simple sizing steps.

*You can always buy extra socks if needed. The newborn size 1 (left and right) and sizes 2 and 3 are included in the box. If you would like to use the larger size 4 sock you can easily buy one on our website.

Step 1: How to remove the Sock Electronics to move up or down a sock size (Newborn Size 1 Left and Right Socks)

Step 2: Correctly position socks and sensors

Step 3 Guidelines to not over tighten

(Newborn Size 1 Left and Right Socks)

If you notice false red or yellow alerts, make sure the Smart Sock is snug and that the Sock Electronics are in the correct location on the foot.

If the electronics are pulling away from the foot, tighten the Smart Sock with the bottom strap or choose a smaller fabric sock size that still keeps the electronics clearly behind the toe line.

Step 2: Correctly position sock and sensors

(Sock Sizes 2-4)

Do not put the electronics over the toes. This will cause poor readings. Pick a fabric sock size that keeps the electronics in the zone for best readings.

Step 3: Guidelines to not over tighten

(Sock Sizes 2-4)

If you notice false red or yellow alerts, make sure the Smart Sock is snug and that the Sock Electronics are in the correct location on the foot.

If the electronics are pulling away from the foot, tighten the Smart Sock with the bottom strap or choose a smaller fabric sock size that still keeps the electronics clearly behind the toe line.

Always remember this simple rule of thumb when using the Owlet Smart Sock.

Be sure to:

  1. Use the correct sock size.
  2. Correctly position the sock and sensor.
  3. Do not over tighten the sock.

Incorrect use of the sock could result in red marks, pressure marks, or blisters on your baby’s foot. Your baby’s safety is our top priority, and we know it’s yours too.
